Dance is one of the most popular recreations known to us. Earlier, it was considered a mere hobby;
but now it has emerged as a career. Taboos linked to dance are many, but people have strived hard
to prove them wrong.
Miranda House has provided a platform for aspiring dancers through the society called TANZ. Tanz is
the Western Dance society that was founded in 2005. This society brings you a culmination of
different dance styles from all over the world. Be it contemporary, hip-hop, free style or Bollywood
the members have made the best of all.
Tanz has acquired several positions at different fests and events. And the team promises to do the
same for future. The girls, elegant in yellow and black won hearts and awards with their moves. The
fruits of success can only be tasted by intense training and hard work. And that reflects in the body
language of these girls. The team recruits only those who are committed to devote their time and
prioritise dance. Tanz auditions can be gruelling and is the most and talked event that attracts
crowds all over the college.
Aayotakshee Roy, a member, says of her society, “Tanz is home, Tanz is family. My life revolves
around my team and it gives me something to look forward to each year. From the western dance
society of Miranda House, I have learned so much more than just dance. It has made me what I am
today, given me the best of friends and will leave me with memories I shall cherish forever.”
