“The human body is the best work of art”
Jess C. Scott
The Women Developmental Cell of Miranda House organised a ‘busting body image myths’ event in order to promote the much required concept of loving your body. The crowd around the small table increased within seconds. The blank sheets of paper on which the participants could be as creative as they liked, expressed their love for their bodies despite its so called ‘issues’. The posters were used at the photo booth with students posing confidently with them. It was pleasantly surprising to see how expressive everyone was. Everything from facial hair to dark underarms was out in the open. The point was to embrace the ‘flaws’ made by the society and transform them to mere myths. The event was successful in doing so.
