When Miranda House began with Tempest 2015 on 26th February, the Enactus festival became the talk of the town. Day 1 at Tempest witnessed more than 5 Enactus teams from various colleges put up their stalls in the much loved Nescafe lawns at Miranda House, which showcased brightness and yellow origami birds, and garnered  admiration of the hard work put in by Team Enactus Miranda House to make this an outstanding event.

With NGO Lakshyam, Ruplee and M.A.P.Productions as its supporters, the Enactus Festival started with a good crowd certainly overwhelmed by the level of effort all the Enactus teams had put in with their target communities in order to help them sustain their businesses. The hosts put their products from Project Zaffran, which included handmade, unadulterated spices as well as their new launch, add-on spices range, especially for the students who live away from their homes and have to adjust with the tasteless hostel food. The beautiful bags, scarves and potlis manufactured under Project Tarang attracted a number of people. Professors from almost all the departments bought spices for their homes, not failing to mention how good they were. Projects from other colleges included manufacturing of Notebooks from recycled paper and accessories as well. People were amazed to know that all the profits would be given to the community involved in producing them, thus taking the businesses a step further towards achieving sustainability.

“This is our way of giving back to the society, and learning a lot in the process”, Shaily Jha, Project Head, Zaffran exclaimed. With sales crossing every anticipated level, the happiness could be seen on the faces of all the Enactus MH members while they posed for a photograph along with all the other Enactus teams present there. “It is a great day for all of us and we will work to make this even better in the future”, Urvashi Kapila, President, Enactus Miranda House said with a smile on her face while she wished the whole team a successful future. “We just finished with a three day sale at Antardhwani 2015, and the whole team worked for the festival tirelessly. I am proud to be a part of Enactus MH”, Apoorva Singh, vice president, Enactus Miranda house concluded.

It was nothing less than a perfect day for all the Enactus teams present. One can easily guess what Tempest 2015 is going to be like with such a grand opening.
